Draft for review — last updated October 2026.
Under each hymn there is an optional "Record this hymn for us" button. We are collecting recordings of real congregations so that, in future, the app can recognise a hymn by ear. Nothing is recorded unless you tap Record (the first time, tapping Record is your agreement to this section), and your browser asks for microphone permission only then.
A recording lasts up to 30 seconds (you can cancel during the first 20 seconds) and is sent as soon as it stops, together with the hymn number you were viewing. Right after sending you can tap Undo to delete it. Recordings may contain the voices of people around you, so please only record where that is acceptable to your congregation.
Recordings are used only to develop hymn recognition. They are stored privately in Google Firebase (Google Cloud), are never published or sold, are not used to identify anyone, and are deleted automatically after 24 months.
Turn on JavaScript to manage recordings.
We record anonymous usage statistics (such as which hymn was opened, how it was found, and your country) to show popular hymns on the Stats page, and use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Your theme and text-size choices are saved only in your browser.
